DOP
the person who more than others collaborates with the director, to find the aesthetic value in relation to the story to be told. After this first artistic phase, he takes care of putting together the best solutions in terms of means and human resources, in collaboration with the production department.
CAMERAMAN
also called operator or cameraman or cameraman is the person who physically acts on the camera or film camera in a television or film production, in order to shoot and transmit or record the required scenes.
STEADIMAN
moves the machine through a dance. According to a study on steadicam operators, it remains a job for all physical types, it does not have to be big, tall or gym, but must know the cinematographic language, to be able to give interesting ideas to those who direct the film.
FOCUS PULLER
A man, in the sense of human, fundamental! He definitely has a style, he has a physical characteristic, and he's curious. In short, it has its own method of fine-tuning the various mechanisms of life.
DIT
The painter's valuable assistant, he turns with a palette in his hand, telling anecdotes and curious situations that have happened to him, while performing very delicate operations.
VTR
Interesting presence, the one who most of all approaches the top of the pyramid, always with discretion and balance, speaks little but gives the joke at the right time.
GAFFER
third and fourth eye of the director of photography, the one who translates the artistic will into power, in practice a lighting engineer with particular attention to aesthetics.
ELECTRIC
he is in close contact with his friend Gaffer, they are not always friends but they become friends on the set, his job instead is to translate into reality what his department head has in mind.
Thanks to him we can work without a helmet.
MACHINIST
a great support to physics. The Director (director) must be grateful to this figure, so that his camera movements (dreams) can be fulfilled. The dop with equal gratitude, he discovers that his heads (of light) can be hung and the light of the Head cut off. That said, he is not a butcher !!
DIRECTOR
is the artistic and technical manager of a work. He directs the actors, coordinates the set, controls the work of the collaborators, sets up and directs the shooting and the shots: he is often considered the real author of a film.
